Appearance |
Snake has an agile structure, built for speed and stealth. He is physical fit and nicely toned, neither heavily muscled or scrawny.

His pelt is a pale, reddish brown with darker reddish-brown, [lightly patterned] Bengal point markings. It is short in length and soft to the touch. Noticeable markings [that differ from the overall point pattern] are his darker chin and lighter, right front paw.
The skin of his ears, pawpads, and nose are a light salmon.

At the moment, he has no noticeable scars or current injuries.

+Stealthy/Durable
With his agile build, nimbleness and sneaking about comes as naturally to Snake as breathing. He can slip in and out of an area or dangerous situation just as easily as he can find himself in one, and while his flexibility may make him seem weaker, he is actually quite durable. He may not be the best fighter, but this tom can take a hit, and he has extravagant resilience to illness. [Some say it's due to all the messes he got into as a kit.] In addition to this, Snake is speedy, in both stealth and full-out running, making him a wonderful lone hunter and the target for great annoyance from slower patrol-mates.

+/-Opportunist/Strategist
Snake is one cat who has a skill when it comes to reaping benefits. Acting on the right moment or strategizing to /create/ the right moment, he is able to take advantage of near any circumstance he finds himself in. This trait, in addition to his stealth, makes him an excellent hunter, aids him in fights, and helps him get out of tricky situations. However, it can also get him into trouble. If a risky situation has a great reward, Snake isn't one to ignore it. He'll devise a plan to get into the midst of it, get the goods, and then get out, without losing his tail. His plans may not always work out like he wants, but he always has another one to replace the ones that don't.

+/-Confident/Stubborn
There's no such thing as low self-esteem for Snake. He's confident in his abilities, his beliefs, and well..just about everything. Bragging comes along with this confidence, as well as persistence. He loves to tell stories of his close-calls to younger cats, put in a good mood by their amazement, and once he has his eyes on something (or someone), it's very difficult to deter him from his goal. He'll stubbornly pursue his desires until they're proven to be less rewarding than he believes, and then and only then will he stop. [See Loyal]

+/-Playful
With a tongue for sarcasm and teasing, he can easily entertain or ruffle a pelt. Just about everything he says could be taken as sarcastic, and unless seriousness is required, he most likely won't be. He's a fan of turning activities into a game, and even during a fight, he isn't below spouting off a witty comment. Playfully flirting is another habit of his. Whether it be to a tom or she-cat, he enjoys teasing someone to the brink of either aggravation/disgust or sexual frustration. Anything that can muster up entertainment for him is a go.

-Secretive
It would make sense for someone who runs his mouth as much as Snake does to not have any secrets, but it's far from the truth with him. All the serious things he doesn't talk about are typically things he will never talk about or stuff he isn't ready to talk about. This usually includes serious romances, disturbing experiences, upsetting emotions, etc. etc. He deals with things alone, and if he's pestered about it enough, he'll get pretty angry at the one doing the pestering. +/-Loyal
When Snake commits, he does so fiercely. Either to his tribe, to a friend/lover, or to an idea, once he finds solid reasoning for commitment, he'll stay dedicated until the cons outweight the pros. While this isn't a necessarily a bad thing, it can often lead him to being manipulated or used, and in the long run creates heartache. [See Forgiving/Patient]

+/-Forgiving/Patient
Snake isn't one to normally hold grudges. If he's wronged, he'll of course be wary of the one who wronged him, but he'll do his best to eventually forgive them and move on. It takes some major betrayal for this tom to hate someone enough to hold a grudge, and he'll only let someone run him in the ground so many times before he reaches his limit. Patience is a virtue, as he'll say, with time someone can become a better individual, and the wait could be worth it. Just like when hunting or other situations, Snake patiently waits for the right time to pounce, or in this case, to let go. [See Loyal]

+Rational
Worrying excessively, staying upset too long, or making rash decisions aren't habits of Snake. While he may risk his tail for goodies, he won't jump into just any circumstance for just any amount of benefits. It has to be worth it. This applies to worry as well. If a problem can't be solved immediately, it isn't worth fretting about. If something isn't a major concern or threat, he limits his worry over it. He keeps his head clear of as much unnecessary grief as he can, because to him, it's pointless to have it around. There are few times when his mind gets muddled to the point of causing him great distress, but it takes a lot of little things and/or a major event to do so. With him being as reserved with troubles/emotions as he is, if he didn't keep a sensible outlook like this, he'd be quickly swamped with despair. [See Secretive]

Role Play Example |
Bitter, cold air sank into his lungs as he inhaled deeply, bringing in the scents of early dawn. A disappointed frown stretched over Snake's tabby face, as he knew that even the most hardened prey of the mountains wouldn't venture too far out with a chill like this. He himself, with such a thin pelt, was reluctant to set off on a hunting expedition, but the energy tugging on his paws would not cease until he had relieved it. Giving a flat sigh at them, the bright tom braced himself for the climb down into the valley, lightly leaping from one stone to another on skilled but freezing toes. Why must I have woken up so early? Snake complained mentally, but he couldn't deny the feeling of excitement that breaking routine brought. Oh the wonders that he'd find down in the valley at such an odd time. Finally leaping from the last boulder, the hunter slipped off into the sparse grassland that had become a field of spikes with the layer of frozen dew. If his pawpads had not be calloused from climbing rocks, the prick of the grass may have been uncomfortable. However, he hardly noticed, particularly with his attention focused on the hunt. What could be out this early? Besides a tasty cat as myself? Snake mused with a grin, vibrant green eyes sweeping the vast expanse around him before flicking to the sky. Always look up. Or get eaten. Just as mother always said. Came a faint reminder, and his heart gave a quick beat of alarm as he spied a circling shadow above. He huffed a short laugh. Appears I have some competition for breakfast this morning. Eyes tailing the large bird as it swooped down several fox-lengths away, Snake crouched low and quickly took off in its direction. Birds had better eyesight by far, which meant they'd spot the mice before he did. If he was careful, and quick, he imagined he'd be able to use this to his advantage. Settling low in the grass just a little ways off, he craned his head back to follow the movements of the bird. Gradually it began to circle a single spot, and Snake was able to pinpoint its landing site by tracing the angle of its head towards the ground. He couldn't quite tell what it was focused on exactly, but knowing it wasn't him, Snake began to creep forward slowly and silently. Closing in on the bird's target, he was able to make out the form of a hare, nibbling on a frosted tussock of grass, completely unaware of its demise on the horizon. His eyes slipped to the predator overhead, then back to the hare. Snake curled into his claws into the hardened earth, adrenaline building in his mind and muscles as he prepared himself. Let the game begin...
